Samsung will likely announce the Galaxy S25 series after three months, but most of the features of those upcoming devices have already leaked. While there was some confusion regarding the processor, it is safe to assume that the Galaxy S25 Ultra bound for the US will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

This Snapdragon chip has the capability to defeat Apple's latest A18 Pro chip used in the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S25 Ultra can defeat iPhone 16 Pro Max in performance

The carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938U), which is bound for the US market, was recently spotted (via @tarunvats33) in Geekbench's database. The phone uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip (codename: Sun) and 12GB RAM. The Galaxy S25 Ultra appears to be running Android 15, which is expected as the phone will be launched early next year.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Geekbench Score Leak

The device scored 3,069 points in Geekbench 6's single-core CPU performance test and 9,080 points in the multi-core CPU performance test. Its single-core performance is similar to that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max's A18 Pro chip, while its multi-core performance is 18% higher.

In comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra scored around 2,300 points in the single-core CPU performance test and around 7,000 points in the multi-core CPU performance test from Geekbench. The phone already beat the iPhone 16 Pro Max in 3DMark's Wildlife Extreme GPU performance test by a fair margin. So, it is safe to assume that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will only increase that lead.

Since the Galaxy S25 Ultra is still in the development and optimization stage, it is likely that the performance of the phone will increase by the time the phone hits the market. So, by then, the device will finally be able to beat the iPhone 16 Pro Max in both CPU and GPU performance aspects.

It will likely have a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP super-telephoto camera. According to some reports, it features the same 12MP selfie camera used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging.
