Samsung is showcasing its new and upcoming display technologies at the ongoing Display Week 2022 expo. The company has demoed its foldable, dual-foldable, slideable, gaming foldable, 240Hz laptop OLED, and digital cockpit OLED displays at the event. It also showcased its new QD (QD-OLED) technology on the show floor.

QD-Display is Samsung's version of OLED, and the company is competing with LG Display in the TV segment. QD-Display is already used in Samsung's own S95B and Sony's A95K QD-OLED TVs that have been breaking new records. The South Korean firm's new display technology has proven itself to offer the widest color gamut, wider viewing angles, and higher brightness (than LG's WRGB OLED). They also come with a promise of a longer lifespan and a shorter risk of image burn-in.

The company's QD-Display panels come in three sizes: 34-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch. The 34-inch ultrawide panel is used in the Dell Alienware AW3423DW gaming monitor. The 55-inch and 65-inch panels have 4K resolution and are used in new TVs from Samsung and Sony. More TV manufacturers are expected to use QD-Display panels in the near future.

It is expected that Samsung Display will launch the QD-Display panel in more sizes and resolutions in the future. However, there's no specific timeline for the release. You can have a look at our hands-on experience with Samsung's QD-Display tech in the video below.
