One of the major upgrades that Samsung's next flagship smartphone is expected to bring is its camera. While it is rumored to keep its quad-camera setup, its telephoto and ultrawide cameras are expected to get a bump up in resolution and sensor size. Today, the specifications of the Galaxy S25 Ultra's ultrawide camera have leaked.
Galaxy S25 Ultra's ultrawide camera to be upgraded to 50MP sensor
According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), who has a solid track record, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features an upgraded ultrawide camera. The device reportedly uses a 50MP camera sensor with a 1/2.52-inch optical format, 0.7µm pixel size, and an F1.9 aperture. Its specifications are extremely similar to the 50MP telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but we can't be sure whether it is the same sensor.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra's ultrawide camera is likely to have an autofocus mechanism for closer focusing for macro shots. It will also likely be able to record 4K 60fps and 8K 30fps videos, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra's 5x telephoto camera.
Previous reports claim that Samsung will also upgrade the telephoto camera with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The upcoming flagship smartphone is expected to feature a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. With such a good upgrade, the Galaxy S25 Ultra's cameras should be good enough for the next few years.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to keep the 200MP primary camera, similar to its predecessors. The other improvements that the phone is rumored to bring include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, up to 16GB RAM, and more rounded corners (for improved comfort). The device will likely have improved Galaxy AI features and One UI 7.1 software.
